Where We Are Headed
To be the foundry partner our customers turn to first for machined iron and steel castings - trusted for engineering judgement, not just capacity, and measured by the products our castings go on to make possible.
Arasur, Coimbatore · Casting Since 2002
Started in Coimbatore in 2002. The machine shop followed in 2011. Today more than 300 people cast, machine and finish iron and steel on one site — and over half of what they make leaves the country.
How We Got Here
Technocast opened in 2002 with a single green sand line and room to pour a hundred tonnes a month. The same site now runs five moulding routes and fifteen times the capacity.
It was started by Mr. Kamalakannan, a first-generation entrepreneur, in Coimbatore — a city with a century of engineering trades behind it and the skilled hands a foundry needs. What it did not have much of in 2002 was iron being cast to export standard. That was the gap he set out to fill.
Growth came from saying yes to what customers kept asking for next. Exports to the United States and Europe opened in 2004. A shell moulding line was added in 2009. The CNC machine shop followed in 2011 — and with it the ability to hand over a finished part instead of a raw casting, which is still the single thing customers value most about working here.
Tier-1 approvals came steadily after that. Automotive, tractor, off-highway and flow-industry OEMs in 2013. The DISA high pressure line and a commercial vehicle programme in 2014. Construction equipment in 2018. Earthmoving, HVAC and precision equipment customers more recently. Each one asked for something the plant did not yet have, and the plant is built the way it is because of them.
Today more than 300 people work across 523,200 square feet, pouring grey iron, ductile (SG) iron and steel from 1 kg to 1,500 kg in a single piece, against an installed capacity of 1,500 tonnes a month. Around 75 per cent of that output is exported, mainly to the United States, Europe and the rest of Asia. The quality systems behind it — ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949 and PED — are all current and independently audited.
Roughly 38 per cent of the site is still open ground, and that is deliberate. The space for the next furnace, the next line and the next machine shop is already inside the fence, as the business works toward a turnover of USD 30 million.

Our Facility
523,200 square feet at Arasur, Coimbatore. 320,000 are under operation across the foundry and the machine shop; the remaining 203,200 - 38 per cent of the site - is still open land held for expansion.

Where We Are Going
Two declarations that anchor every decision we make — from investment in equipment to how we treat a customer call on a Friday afternoon.
Vision
To be the foundry partner our customers turn to first for machined iron and steel castings - trusted for engineering judgement, not just capacity, and measured by the products our castings go on to make possible.
Mission
To supply castings complete - moulded, heat treated, machined, coated, assembled and tested under one roof - through continual investment in process capability, in our people, and in the quality and environmental systems that hold it together.
Why Technocast
Who works out the method, who prices the job, how long we have been shipping overseas, what the plant can hold, and what is being automated next.
Method, tooling and solidification simulation are worked out in house before the first mould is made. Chemical and physical analysis, nodularity checks and CMM inspection are run by our own people, so a process question is answered by the engineers who designed the process.
The people who price the job also know the shop floor. A quotation carries the moulding route, the tooling plan and the machining sequence behind it, so what is agreed at enquiry stage is what the plant can actually hold.
Around three quarters of what we pour leaves India, going mainly to the United States, Europe and the rest of Asia. Recognised as a Star Export House in 2009, Best Export Foundry by IIF in 2011, and awarded EEPC India Export Excellence four years running from 2019 to 2022.
523,200 square feet at Arasur, with 320,000 under operation. Five moulding routes, an installed capacity of 1,500 tonnes a month, a CNC machine shop of more than forty machines and a metrology room with two coordinate measuring machines - foundry and finishing on one site.
The high pressure moulding line already pours automatically. New machining centres and an automatic five-axis fettling cell for parts up to 40 kg are due during 2026, moving finishing away from hand grinding and the variation that comes with it.
