Plant Areas

What Is Actually
Inside the Plant?

Six working areas sit inside one 523,200 sq ft site at Arasur, Coimbatore. Moulding, melting, cores, sand, machining and inspection are all run by Technocast, not subcontracted.

Moulding

Five lines under one roof: DISA MATCH 130 high pressure moulding, ARPA 450, ARPA 1300, a no bake fast loop and no bake floor moulding for the heaviest work.

Melting

Six induction furnaces. Four 1-tonne dual-track units in the main bay run about 60 tonnes a day; two 1.5-tonne units rated 1,750 kW serve the no bake bay.

Core Shop

Five cold box core shooters from 5 kg to 30 kg, a 5 kg shell core shooter and a four-table CO2 station, so cores are made to the same schedule as the moulds.

Sand Systems

Two dedicated sand plants. Green sand is prepared for the high pressure line, while a 30 t/hr continuous mixer and two 100 t hoppers feed no bake moulding.

Machine Shop

Over 40 CNC machines: 20 VMCs, four horizontal machining centres, five vertical turret lathes, 13 turning centres, gear cutting and dynamic balancing.

Lab and Metrology

Chemistry is checked on every heat by optical emission spectrometer. Two Brown & Sharpe CMMs, sand testing and mechanical testing complete the inspection loop.
