Construction and Earthmoving
Heavy machine and implement castings, welded and assembled on the same site.
Construction and earthmoving is about a tenth of what we pour. These are the working parts of the machine rather than the driveline: swing frames and turntable parts, boom and link brackets, track and roller components, counterweights, hydraulic manifolds and housings. A 300 kg earthmoving frame is in current production.
These castings take shock loading, abrasion and weather, so section thickness is generous and soundness matters more than surface finish. Most run on ARPA 450, ARPA 1300 or the Alpha-set No Bake line, in single pieces up to 1,500 kg, then stress relieved before machining so the frame stays true.
What usually decides this work is what happens after the casting. We weld in TIG, MIG and arc, perforate and form sheet to 1,000 mm width and 2 mm thickness, assemble with bought-in rolled steel, forgings, brass, PTFE, stainless and rubber, and load test on a 2,000 tonne hydraulic press. Approvals in this sector are held with global earthmoving and construction equipment makers. All of it at Arasur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Weight range, welding, assembly and a proper coating. A plain foundry sends three of those four somewhere else.

Castings are combined with bought-in rolled steel, forgings, brass, PTFE, stainless and rubber parts, then load tested on a 2,000 tonne hydraulic press to your specification.
Primer paint is applied in house. Powder, zinc, galvanised and manganese phosphate finishes are arranged through approved partners, so machines that live outdoors leave properly coated.

Applications
Six part families we run for excavator, loader and earthmoving equipment builders.
Large ductile iron frames carrying slew and boom loads. Floor moulded, stress relieved, then machined flat so the turntable bearing seats true.
Pin-bore brackets under shock and fatigue loading. Ultrasonically checked before machining, because a bore that opens up on site is a warranty claim.
Abrasion-facing parts in ductile iron and cast steel, hardened and tempered where the drawing calls for it.
Heavy grey iron sections up to 1,500 kg, floor moulded, then painted or fabricated into a finished assembly.
Cored bodies that have to be leak tight. Machined here, with pressure testing where the drawing requires it.
Castings welded in TIG, MIG or arc with rolled steel and formed sheet, then load tested on the 2,000 tonne press and supplied ready to fit.
Quality Gates
Six checks between the furnace and the packing bay. A part that fails one does not move to the next.
Every heat is read on an ARL spectrometer before pouring, and the result is recorded against the batch.
Ductile iron is checked by ultrasonic velocity, then confirmed under a microscope with image analyser for graphite shape and count.
Tensile strength, elongation and hardness on samples poured from the same heat as your castings.
Large frames and brackets are measured on the 1,500 x 1,200 x 1,000 mm Brown and Sharpe CMM with a scanning probe.
Ultrasonic and magnetic particle inspection in house, with particular attention to pin bores. Radiographic inspection through an accredited partner when specified.
Assemblies are load tested on a 2,000 tonne hydraulic press where required, then primed or coated, packed and documented.
