PED Certified for Pressure Work
The Pressure Equipment Directive certificate is what allows a casting to go into pressure-bearing equipment sold in the European Union. It sits alongside ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF 16949.
Technocast Foundry casts pump casings, volutes, impellers, valve bodies, bonnets and flanged fittings in grey iron, ductile (SG) iron, cast steel and stainless grades. PED certified, pressure tested on site, and machined complete at Arasur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
Pumps and Valves
Pressure-tight castings for the flow industry, poured and proven in Coimbatore.
Pumps and valves are about 15 per cent of everything we pour, and it is work Coimbatore knows well - the district is one of India’s main pump manufacturing centres, and our plant at Arasur sits inside it. Typical parts are pump casings and volutes, impellers and diffusers, valve bodies and bonnets, bearing housings, flanged fittings and base plates.
A pump or valve casting fails on porosity long before it fails on strength. That is why these parts are moulded with tight gating and checked all the way through: ultrasonic and magnetic particle inspection in house, and a pressure testing rig on site so leaks are found here, not on your assembly bench.
We hold PED certification, which is what lets a casting go into pressure-bearing equipment sold in the European Union. Flow-industry approvals are held with international pump and valve manufacturers. Grey iron, ductile (SG) iron, cast steel including ASTM A216 WCB, and stainless grades such as CF3M are all poured here.
What We Make
Casings, volutes, impellers, valve bodies and flanged fittings across iron and stainless grades.

Why Flow Buyers Come Here
A pressure certificate, proof the casting is sound, the right grade, and finished flange faces. All four are handled on one site.
The Pressure Equipment Directive certificate is what allows a casting to go into pressure-bearing equipment sold in the European Union. It sits alongside ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF 16949.
A pressure testing rig on site means bodies and housings are proved before they ship. Ultrasonic and magnetic particle inspection are also in house; radiography is arranged through an accredited partner when the drawing calls for it.
Grey iron for damping and cost, ductile (SG) iron for strength, cast steel including ASTM A216 WCB for higher pressure and temperature, and stainless grades such as CF3M where the fluid is aggressive.
Five vertical turret lathes, thirteen turning centres and vertical turn mill to 1,750 mm diameter. Flange faces, bores and seat areas are machined on site, then checked with contour testing and ring gauge masters.

Applications
Six part families we run regularly for pump and valve builders in Coimbatore, across India and overseas.
Cored casings where the internal passage decides the pump curve. Cast in iron or steel, machined on the vertical turret lathes and pressure tested before despatch.
Thin, cored sections that have to be sound and balanced. Dynamically balanced to 1 gram where the drawing calls for it.
Gate, globe and butterfly bodies in iron, cast steel and stainless grades. Seat and flange faces machined here, then pressure tested to your specification.
Grey and ductile iron housings where bore concentricity and face flatness decide how long the bearing lasts.
Flanged pipe fittings, bends and elbows, faced and drilled to standard or to your own flange pattern.
Large grey iron and fabricated base plates, floor moulded up to 1,500 kg, stress relieved and machined flat so the pump and motor stay aligned.
Quality Gates
Six checks between the furnace and the packing bay, ending with a pressure test. A part that fails one does not move to the next.
Every heat is read on an ARL spectrometer before pouring, and the result is recorded against the batch.
Ductile iron is checked by ultrasonic velocity, then confirmed under a microscope with image analyser for graphite shape and count.
Tensile strength, elongation and hardness are tested on samples poured from the same heat as your castings.
Bores, flange faces and seat areas are proven on Brown and Sharpe coordinate measuring machines, with contour testing and ring gauge masters for profiles.
Ultrasonic and magnetic particle inspection in house. Radiographic inspection through an accredited partner when the drawing calls for it.
Bodies and casings are pressure tested on our own rig to the pressure and hold time you specify, then painted, packed and documented.

Yes. A pressure testing rig on site tests bodies, casings and housings to the pressure and hold time on your drawing, before the part is painted and packed.
Pump casings and volutes, impellers and diffusers, valve bodies and bonnets, bearing housings and covers, flanged fittings and elbows, and pump base plates.
